Linear Systems
General Courses

This course is about the description of linear systems and the way how they elaborate output signals once they are stimulated by input signals. The program starts with general topics related to signals and it ends with advanced techniques for the evaluation of linear systems under the frequency mode. The main topics are required for any further control systems (or feedback control systems design). Briefly, they are described as follows: characterization of linear systems; differential equations; time-domain patterns; impulse response; transfer function; block diagrams; 1st and 2nd order systems; step-time response; dominant poles; BIBO stability; Mason's diagram and rule; and Routh-Hurwitz criterium.
